After they checked us in and brought us to a table they started their lecture. When we booked the reservation it asked if we were celebrating anything special and wrote that it was our friend’s birthday and we came in with party hats on, yet no acknowledged that it was her birthday at all. When we walked in, there were two employees behind the counter and they didn’t say anything, they just stared at us. When we got there we were so excited and thought it was such a cute place and great concept, until the moment we walked in and the staff was rude and unwelcoming. We booked this as a fun outing for my friend’s birthday as we are huge candle lovers and were looking forward to it for a couple months. why couldn’t we have paid for an extra spot? Was this like a power trip thing?Bad service and terrible overall experience!!! Our tables alone has 4 empty spots that remained empty for the duration of class. At that time, the class was not even half full and never did fill up. At first they said no and then one employee pulled a chair from the back behind the counter.Once we were seated an employee, I believe Lauren, comes up to our table and tells us the extra seat may be pulled from us if the “booked” guests come in for class. Okay no problem, but we asked if they had an extra seat for someone to sit because my extra guest just had knee surgery so she couldn’t walk or stand for long periods of time. I booked several weeks in advance, 4 spots total. The day of, I had an extra out of town guest to join our party and so I asked if we could pay for the extra spot. The only reason why this isn’t zero stars is because my first experience with Paddy Wax was amazing! We were there to celebrate a friend’s birthday and all was pleasant, so I booked again for my sister’s birthday.
